Why is my carrier seeing "Unauthorized. Failed to authenticate with TSP. Please check if the provided credentials are correct."?
Common causes of ELD credential verification failures and how to resolve them
This error means Catena could not verify your carrier's credentials with their ELD provider. The most common causes are:
- Incorrect username, password, or company ID. Your carrier should double-check that they are entering exactly what they use to log into their TSP's own portal.
- For HOS247, ABCELD, and related white-label providers: the company ID must be entered exactly as it appears in the TSP dashboard, including the prefix. For example: Company:123456. Entering 123456 alone will fail.
- For Samsara: the carrier's account must have Full Admin or Standard Admin role. A user with a lower role cannot authorize data sharing. See article 1.3 for details.
- Credentials that have recently changed on the TSP side. The carrier should log into their TSP portal directly to confirm their credentials are still active.
- For Orbcomm: if credentials that previously worked are now failing, the carrier should log into their Orbcomm portal directly to confirm the account is still active. Orbcomm may reject valid credentials due to an API-level issue on their side, in which case contact Catena support.
If none of the above resolves the issue, share the fleet ID and TSP name with support@catenaclearing.io and the team can review the error logs.
