What is a webhook?

Use webhooks to receive Catena events in real time.

A webhook is a way for Catena to push real-time notifications to your system when something happens. Instead of your application repeatedly asking Catena "is there new data?", Catena sends a message to a URL you configure as soon as an event occurs.

Examples of webhook events include: a vehicle location being updated, a carrier accepting an invitation, a connection becoming stale, or an HOS violation being recorded.

Webhooks deliver events typically within 200 to 500 milliseconds of the triggering event.

See our documentation on webhooks.
