How often is my carriers' location data updated?
Understand location data update frequency across ELD providers.
Location data is typically ingested every minute for most ELD providers. Some providers update more or less frequently depending on their own platform settings. Catena handles polling and retries automatically.
The exact schedule for a specific fleet connection can be checked by querying the List Schedules API endpoint, which shows the resource type and polling interval for each connection.
Note: Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) stops sending location updates when a vehicle is stationary. If a Motive vehicle appears to have a stale location, it may simply be parked. The timestamp reflects the last known movement, not a data failure.
